To obtain balsam fir absolute, the needles and small branches of the majestic Abies balsamea conifers, growing in eastern Canada, are collected.

The aroma of this fir is deep, balsamic, full of forest freshness and warmth. At first, a fresh, resinous coniferous note opens up, then the scent becomes richer, gently sweet, reminiscent of the depths of the forest and winter coziness.

Used in perfumery in small concentrations, it provides a natural, long-lasting sensation of forest freshness.

It is often associated with winter and Christmas, which is why it appears in luxury fragrances for winter celebrations, forest scents, and fougère accords.
