In the past, carnations were a popular (and dominant) floral perfume note, but in modern compositions they are often used as a modifier for floral bases.

This carnation absolute is produced using organically grown flowers, so it stands out significantly from other carnation absolutes with its exceptional aroma – there is not a trace of chemical solvents, only the pure floral scent, which is extraordinarily long-lasting.

The aroma stands out with a mysterious charm, which may be related to the origin of carnation flowers: in different historical periods, carnations have been associated with love, weddings, and fidelity, and in Victorian flower language, carnations symbolized pure love. In antiquity, the carnation was the most widely used flower for weaving wreaths and garlands, hence its English name "carnation" (from the Latin "corona" – crown). Furthermore, the name Dianthus comes from Greek and means "flower of God."

In modern perfumery, carnations are most often used to modify the scent, adding warm spicy floral nuances. "Men like spicy notes, and many men's fragrances... contain carnation" – one of the most popular and classic examples is Shulton's Old Spice, introduced in 1937.
