Cymbopogon winterianus, more widely known as citronella grass, is an aromatic, evergreen perennial plant from whose rhizome many grass stems grow. This plant is cultivated on the island of Java in Indonesia, southern India, and Sri Lanka.

USE

Aromatherapy properties:

• reduces stress, anxiety, improves mood;
• when used at home - eliminates unpleasant odors, freshens spaces;
• when used for massage, relaxes tired, tense, painful muscles;
• used in insect-repellent blends.

Perfumery properties:

• citronella aroma is more commonly found in hygiene products or insect-repellent products - sprays, scented candles, household cleaning products. This scent is less commonly found in perfumes;
• citronella aroma is particularly citrusy but also herbal, leaving a feeling of freshness and vitality, reminiscent of summer evenings spent in nature, by the campfire;  
• can be used as a heart-top note;  
• blends with bergamot and other citrus, lavender, cedar, geranium, pine essential oils.

SAFETY!

Must be diluted. Maximum concentration on skin - 18%.

Non-phototoxic, can be used in the sun.

For pregnant women: effects have not been fully studied, therefore we recommend consulting a doctor aromatherapist before use.

For children: can be used from birth.

The main rule of aromatherapy – less is more, i.e. essential oils work better in small doses.
