Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) - a plant of the mint family (Lamiaceae), easily recognized by the aroma and taste of its leaves and flowering tops. It is a small shrub usually grown as an annual, although in warm climates it can remain green all year round and bloom with purple or white flowers.
USE
Aromatherapy properties:
- stimulates brain activity, improves memory.
Perfumery properties:
- thyme essential oil has a distinctive, energetic, herbal aroma;
- it is fresh, green, sweetly herbal, clean and yet gentle, with a faint peppery hint and a soft woody note;
- the aroma is spicy, aromatic, can give perfumes a skin nuance;
- used in masculine and unisex perfumes together with bergamot and other citrus oils, cedar, chamomile, juniper berry, lavender, lemon, niaouli, pine, rosemary, tea tree essential oils.
SAFETY!
Must be diluted. Maximum concentration on skin 1.3%.
For pregnant women: effects on pregnant women have not been fully studied, therefore we recommend consulting a doctor aromatherapist before use.
For children: safe to use from 2 years of age.
The main rule of aromatherapy – less is more, i.e. essential oils work better in small doses.
