GENERAL INFORMATION:
Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) and Himalayan cedar (Cedrus deodara) – are true cedars and are widely used in aromatherapy. They have a warm, balsamic aroma and have a grounding, relaxing effect, help prepare for sleep, reduce stress, and are diffused during meditation and yoga practices.
Another "cedar" oil - Virginia cedar (Juniperus virginiana) - is actually a juniper, so its scent and properties differ. This cedar is characterized by a dry, rich, smoky aroma, most commonly used in perfumery.
Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) – true cedar, with a warm, woody and balsamic scent.
- used to calm the mind and promote inner balance.
Himalayan cedar (Cedrus deodara) – essential oil with a soft, sweetish-woody aroma.
- valued for its cleansing and relaxing properties.
Virginia cedar (Juniperus virginiana) – although not true cedar, it has a dry, smoky scent.
- for air purification, supports emotional stability.
